　取材に対する朝日広告の説明によると、０８年１０月初め、それまでに取引があったスポーツ関連品販売会社（大阪市）のＤＭ発送にあたり、制度の対象となる定期刊行物の発行団体を紹介。その後、封筒や広告の印刷業務を受注して納品した。この取引で朝日広告は３７０万円を売り上げ、２０万円の利益があったという。(2009年1月9日　朝日新聞）

同社によると、昨年１０月初旬、取引先である大阪市内のスポーツ用品販売会社から依頼を受け、割引制度を利用している福祉団体（文京区）を紹介。その後、大阪市の会社からＤＭに使う広告と封筒の印刷を３７０万円で受注したという。

　大阪市の会社は当初、印刷・通販会社「ウイルコ」（石川県白山市）に依頼する予定だったが、朝日新聞が制度の悪用問題を報道したことでウイルコから断られたため、朝日広告社に紹介を依頼したという。(2009年1月9日　読売新聞)

小林恵美子氏もその一人で、高校生当時はバスケットボール部に夢中で、福祉関係の就職を探していた彼女に日本福祉大学への進学を勧めたのは、他ならぬ村木元被告だった。

村木元被告は、この師弟関係を利用して同社が出版する就職情報誌に、郵便料金不正割引を持ち込んだ。
この師弟関係は、表面的なもので、実質的には従属的な関係であったのではないだろうか？

それが事実だとすれば、この事件で、村木元被告が逮捕された当時の「検察の見立」は正しかったことになる。

ダイレクトメールの製作・発送のその物にも関与していたことになる。
